Can I be a Ham？

Can I be a HAM ? I know it is too difficult ! You may ask me what it is. HAM ! Yes, that is "Radio Amateur". Five years ago, I got the novice class license through the "Boy Scouts" activity together with boys. Radio handling was one of the trainning courses for the leaders. I used to go to the class to prepare for the examination. I remember that I felt very sleepy everytime I was having lecture of "Regulations". After passing the exam, I did not know what to do with it. Frankly I was not interested in radio. I just followed "Boy Scouts way". Anyway, to be a HAM, I needed any set of transciever. A 430Mhz FM handie radio was the very first gear from Akihabara. Then I had a little contacts with my local stations. But, I still do not know why this was a fun.
