WHAT'S AMATEUR (HAM) RADIO

Amateur radio, often called Ham Radio, is both a hobby
and a service in which participants, called "hams" use
various types of radio communications equipment to
communicate with other radio amateurs for public service,
recreation and self-training.

Amateur radio operators enjoy personal (and often worldwide)
wireless communications with each other and are able to support
their communities with emergency and disaster communications if
necessary, while increasing their personal knowledge of electronics
and radio theory. An estimated six million people throughout the
world are regularly involved with amateur radio.

In the childhood

As you know I went to the radio here at that age - three years. In those years, I was most attracted to the sounds of air, colorful radio components in my father's box and the sweet smell of rosin from a soldering iron on my father's desk. The years pass. Radio components have become not toys... When the house came the book "Around the Earth on the airwaves", then the final choice was made - to be the radio fan.

In young years

At sixteen, got the first call SWL - UC2-188-230. Then the opportunity to come to the HF air stations collectively UC1AXE. Interesting friends, but mostly all of them have had their own personal radio station. At me the was born purpose - to open its... And then came the day when I received a personal call resolution and EU1AM.

In our time

In 2001 I have left Belarus to Israel. There I have not left the hobby to radio. A month later the new call sign 4Z5NY has received. To this day he can be heard on all HF ranges and VHF. But more often I can be seen in digital mode. Sometimes, if there is propagation on high-frequency ranges, I like to sit on CB-band.
