Homebrew HF Trap Dipole for 10,15,20,40,and 80 meters

 

I have kept a photo diary while making this antenna  I will list the items used and title each column.

The parts required for this antenna will be :-

2 x 1-1/2" ABS Solvent Weld straight connectors

4 x 3/4" ABS Solvent Weld straight connectors

2 x 1" fibre Glass tube 2 1/2" long (as ABS not available in 1" size)

36" hard drawn copper for bridles

70ft of 13 amp electrical cable

2 x dog bones

1 x dipole centre

Photo 1 is the stock of abs straight connectors please note the 1" fibre glass formers as 1" abs is not available.

Photo 2 is the 1-1/2" former which was marked and drilled for the coax entry tie wraps and bridle fitting

Photo 3-7 is the start of the coax windings and fixings with tie wraps

Photos 8 and 9 show the bridle fitting and the wire connections the coax inner to coax outer inside the former

Photos 10 and 11 show the fitting of element wire to the bridle

Photo 12 is the waterproofing of the built trap for external use as the dipole may be fitted into the loft

Photos 12 and 13 show the construction of the 1" fibre glass trap
