Frequencies
Operational on-site repeaters currently in service include:
- The 2 Metre band: 145.7875 (-600khz). This is a shared repeater. The
frequency being allocated to ZS6HVB (the Highveld Club of the S.A. Radio
League) and ZS6SSC (the Southern Suburbs Radio Club). The equipment has been
pooled from all participating clubs' resources. The repeater carries Sunday
morning bulletins, starting at 08h15 SAST with the Afrikaans version of the
S.A. Radio League bulletin and at 08h30 SAST in English. At 08h45 SAST there
is a bulletin in English for members of the Highveld Club, Southern Suburbs
Radio Club and the SABC Amateur Radio Club (ZS6RTV). All radio amateurs are
invited to participate in this bulletin.
- The 70 cms band: 438.850 Mhz (-7.6 Mhz). This repeater is wholly owned
and operated by ZS6RTV. It is used for experimental cross band linking and
testing in the UHF spectrum.
The repeaters are constructed and maintained by the committee member
(technical),Ton van Dijk ZS6ANA, and housed on the roof of the 30 story
office tower block (about 150 meters above ground level, location
26 deg. 11' 11" S, 28 deg. 00' 39" E) in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, S.A.
