I was issued with my ZS callsign in 1994 and  am active on all modes, all frequencies.I have been a foreign correspondent for the past40 years and have been covering wars, revolutions and civil unrest world-wide for news agencies, newspapers, radio and TV.

Thanks to the marvelous assistance I received from fellow hams, notably OM Neil ZR6DX, I am fully up and running on Ham Radio De Luxe and probably one of its greatest fans. I work all modes on all bands but prefer PSK31 and RTTY.

I have grand plans to become a contester and to that end downloaded   N1MM which I plan to use for gaining my DXCC. Should any fellow hams that I have worked over the years read this posting, please scratch through your logs and confirm QSOs on LoTW or through bureau (South African Amateur Radio League) or direct.

I am urrently involved in an  public relations venture together with two friends (www.mediaservices.co.za) providing press, radio and television exposure to 'tech" companies both locally and internationaly.

Equipment:

HF: Icom 7000, Kenwood, Icom 706 MkII G as well as a TS-440S feeding into a six element log periodic and a Tet-Emtron 4 element Yagi  17 meters off the ground . For lower bands I use a full-length G5RV 20 meters above ground. My linear amplifier is an old  Kenwood TL-922 amplifier newly refurbished.

VHF: My main radio is a Kednwood TS790A which was built especially for satellite work and is one of the few rigs available that does 2M, 70cm and 1.2 Gig all modes (including SSB). I have a steerable satellite aray with crossed Yagis for 2m. 70cm and 1.2gig.

Thanks for your visit. Please feel free to contact me.
