CHATHAM   ISLANDS   NEWS

THE KERMADEC DX ASSOCIATION DXPEDITION TO CHATHAM ISLAND, ZL7C IN 2002.

The second group left New Zealand from Wellington today 16th October, and will be on Chatham Islands by now.

Last minute problems occurred today in Wellington.(Murphy strikes again) A consignment of HF equipment was held up in Auckland Customs BOND awaiting clearance and shipment to Wellington for onwards freight to Chatham Islands. There was considerable effort this morning to get it moving but unfortunately the consignment did not make the same flight to Chatham Islands and it will now go on Friday 18th October. So the Team will be down one HF Transceiver until late Friday afternoon...

Many photos were taken at the Airport in Wellington and these will be posted, along with many others on this WEB site, as soon as they are received by our PACTOR link...

The group were reminded to use the IOTA QRG+/- on 20m as well as the lower QRG identified on this WEB Site.

The group will be very active in the CQWW SSB contest and will close down immediately after the contest is finished.

Good luck in your hunt for ZL7C!
