CHATHAM ISLANDS
NEWS |
THE KERMADEC DX ASSOCIATION DXPEDITION TO CHATHAM ISLAND, ZL7C IN 2002.
Webmaster
As another great South Pacific Dxpedition comes to a close , I look back and
reflect on the operations over the last 12 days of activities.
From the beginning we have planned to achieve, and indeed the Dxpedition Leader has
requested, that this (he claims his last Dxpedition) be a low profile, low
pressure, relaxed and friendly Dxpedition.
IOTA OC-038 (Chatham Islands, ZL7) has again been activated by a dedicated team of
Dxpedition Operators who's sole aim was to have fun and enjoyment making this
rare prefix available to Amateurs World Wide.
It is my duty now and also great pleasure on behalf of the Team to thank the
following:-
N1DG, Don Greenbaum, for without his Original Web Page Design, I would still be
looking for a suitable alternative.
K5TR, George Fremin, for posting our LOGS to the Log Search Engine.
QSL.net, K3TKJ, Al Waller, for his dedication to the Services of Ham Radio via
his Web Server.
KKN.net, N5KO, Trey Garlough, for Hosting the ZL7C Log Search Engine on his
Server.
ZL2AL, Lee Jennings, ZL7C Pilot, for the vital role of Liason between you
and the Dxpedition Team.
DL1ZAM, Martin Clas and the Team at SCS GmbH & Co. KG, for the Pactor III technology
that enabled us to receive high quality photos from ZL7C via HF.
DJ0CU, Paul Harrison, for his Terminal Software (SIMPLE32) that enabled us to
receive from ZL7C using Pactor III; ZIP files, Log files, Word.doc files, Text files,
and photo.jpg files.
The following Suppliers have again, as in many previous Dxpeditions, generously
supplied Equipment/Software for ZL7C:
Vertex Standard (Yaesu Co.) for HF Transceivers.
Icom America, for HF Transceivers.
K1EA Contest Software, for the CT9 Logging Software.
Cushcraft USA, for HF Antennas.
To each and everyone of you a sincere THANK YOU for helping us make this Dxpedition
a great success.
Until we meet again from another Island in the South Pacific, we wish you "Farewell" "Good Dxing"
and 73's from the 'FRIENDLY ISLANDS'
ZL2ARN, Gordon, WEBMASTER for ZL7C.
With these well defined requirements in mind I set out to find and develop a
suitably appropriate Dxpedition Web Page that would also be relaxed, informative,
and friendly in its presentation.
I hope you will all agree that Don (N1DG) Greenbaum's original Page design has
filled these basic requirements and that we have continued to maintain a user
friendly and easy to navigate Dxpedition Web Page.
It has been my pleasure as WEBMASTER to bring and show to you all via our WEB
Page, their entire Dxpedition experience. From arrival and set-up, operational
news, photos, achievements, to finally close-down and a sad good-bye to Chathams
until next time....
Original page design and layout by N1DG, updated and maintained by ZL2ARN.
Your comments and input are always
welcome
