Hello, my name is Kevin Hand and I live in the city of Dunedin which is in the South Island of New Zealand.
I am a past committee member of Branch 30 of NZART and have been licensed since 1977 and hold a General Class license with the Callsign of ZL4QD.
Current equipment in use is a Kenwood TS-530S HF Tranceiver, a Yaesu FT-817ND Transceiver, an Icom ICF-5023 2metre Transceiver and an Icom F3 2M Handheld Tranceiver. I use a Yaesu FRG-7000 and Sangean ATS-803 receivers for SWL and also have a DRT1 Software Defined Radio which I use with a Sony Vaio laptop computer.
My antennas are a Multiband Vertical, a Multiband dipole plus various VHF/UHF configurations.My other interests in the radio field are Shortwave Broadcast listening and Utility listening.
Outside interests include watching my Grandchildren playing sport,walking the dog and computers.
I work as a system administrator at Kings High School which is an all boys school of around 800 pupils from year 9 (13 years old) to adult.
