Video Pattern Generator

This project is still in the design process. But at this time the concept is to a PAL test signal, with all the correct timing that is needed. The devices that we are looking at using for this project are The ATMEL AVR, STV5730 text generator, AD722 colour encoder and a protocol converter. The protocol converter will take the serial data sent to it. And pass the information on to the AVR and the STV5730 text generator. AVR at point in time will generate All the syncs, as well as the RGB information. The AVR will run off the common 10 MHz clock that is feed to all of the PCBs. Text generator will take the data that is sent to it form the protocol converter. And will display the text information that is mixed into the RGB outputs. The RGB is feed to the AD722 that is a very good PAL colour encoder. This will provide the composite video into the B input of the TV modulator.
