AREC 12V DC Power connections 

The preferred 12v DC power connector for use in AREC activities is shown below.  This ' T ' style connector is used on many current model VHF and UHF radio designs available from the manufacturers. These connectors are readily available from Automotive Accessory stores, and also from the Auckland VHF groups trading table. 

You may like to make a permanent connection to your car battery using short flying leads with fuse holders in both lines.	When assembling the connectors the positive or red wire is the top of the ' T ' and the negative or black wire is the vertical connector.

To complete the job, be sure to crimp and then solder to connections. This will ensure trouble free running.
