... about myself

I was curious about radio since 6 years old. I self study about electronic and radio communication in parallel with my secondary education.
After obtaining my Form 5 certificate, I sat for the Amateur Radio Examination held by City and Guild Institute in 1969. I had not got a chance to get my amateur licence until I went to Brunei in 1976. My call sign was VS5TX.
I was very active in 20M band on SSB in late 70's and early 80's. I assisted the American DX team for their Spratly Island DXpedition and 9M6 DXpedition in April,1980.
JA1BK visited my shack in December, 1980 for 6M operation.

... my QSL card

My radio activities made me become a popular ham in Brunei. QSL cards from all over the world were flying in. In order to be special, I replied with creative QSL depending on the card I received.

I left Brunei in 1982 and obtained a new call in Hong Kong as VS6KY.

18 years later, Alfons and Doris converted the remote bare hill into a modern resort delicate to hams and tourists
