Hi, my name is Simon and I live in Auckland NZ.

I have been a Ham since 1982 and am quite active on the bands from HF through to VHF as well as being active on 925MHz, 1296MHz, 2400MHz, 5760MHz & 10368MHz, all with  home brew transverters that are described in this site.

I am an avid constructor and have many fun years cooking up many and varied electronic projects.
I have been keen on HAM satellites and cut my teeth on the RS series birds and then got active on AO-10 and then on to AO-40.
I can't wait for Phase 3E to get up and running. I am sure we all miss the "Middle Beacon" sound as in AO-40.

I have also worked many countries on 6m (most of those during the 80's when band condx were good)!

I am married to my lovely wife Sonia and we have two kids, Daniel and Jenna who keep our lives very full!

Other hobbies include boating, scuba diving, snow skiing, wood and metal working and building just about anything.

Additionally I like to get out and about and do geocaching with family and friends. Great excercise and the kids love the idea of finding hidden treasure. See http://www.geocaching.com  for more info.
You will see my stats on the  left hand side. Not many there compared to some but we'll get there...

I work as a data communications specialist which involves working with routing / switching / firewalls and VPNs (Virtual Private Networks). I also do a bit of wireless comms with 802.11a/b/g and have worked with licensed microwave gear as well.

Enjoy this web page and hopefully there will be something of interest to you all.  When time permits, I will update with new info as I come to it, so be sure to check the site from time to time.
