The Ethiopian Amateur Radio Society would like to thank the following kind donors for their generous contributions to the EARS radio club and their ham radio activities !!
SV8CS, DL8GP, G4FUF, F6BKI, DL9MS, A special thanks to ZL1UHZ (Mum!) and the Thames Branch of NZART (ZL1DF) for their generous support from "back home"! ZL1ALA, ZL1ATU, Note as at 18 May 2008 ... There are many QSL's still in the post. Callsigns of other donors will be added as the mail arrives! A personal note of thanks to the donors : I have been astounded at the generosity of the above donors. The donations certainly exceeded my wildest expectations and will make a huge difference to the club! If I have missed anyone ... or you would also like to donate to ET3AA ... please e-mail me before I leave ET in mid-June! ![]() What will the donations be used for? The club has accepted the offer of my IC-706Mk2G. ![]() There is also a small cash surplus that will be held in trust by ET3SID against the future financial needs of the club. The EARS club members have expressed an interest in operating on the amateur satellites and EME!! Other donations. For my part, I will hand over the computer interface box for the IC-706Mk2G and the 2 x 11V 2M antenna system, along with a few other ham radio accessories, when I leave Ethiopia in mid-June. I have also managed to facilitate the donation of another computer to the EARS club ... and also 6 desktop computers to the secondary school where the EARS club is based. These computers were surplus/obsolete from the organisation I work for, but still very servicable and highly appreciated by the club and the school! |

| A personal note of thanks to Sid May (ET3SID) and the members of EARS : your kind permission to let me use the club callsign has resulted in the activation of another country for the first time on EME ... to the great joy of the many EMEers who succeeded in contacting my small "Moon-Bounce" station. Thank you very much for the opportunity! |
