Dear Friends,

It is a great satisfaction that we have the world champions in HST here, but most of all I would like to express my personal pleasure that I see you in great condition, great mood and good health.
The Radio-amateur union of Macedonia, the national team in HST and myself made a promise at the last world championship in Constanta, Romania that we will going to organize an open HST competition here in Macedonia and here we are on Macedonia Open 2002. That means that we have realized our idea for this competition. Your presence here shows that the morse code has its followers in the world radio-amateur movement. As a radio-amateur I’m very proud that I have my own contribution in radiotelegraphy by using radio contacts. The expressed interest today and your presence here gives a hope for continuing of the activities in the radio education of the youth. It’s a task of the radio-amateur and we have achieved that. I also salute to the organizers and all of the participants on the big expeditions in the Pacific who had put the Macedonian flag on Fiji, Conway Reef and Baker Island. By practical use of the short wave and ultra-short wave communication they have made thousands and thousands contacts.
In the name of RSM I express our gratitude to our respected minister Mr Balkovski and the director of Telecommunications directorate Mr Trajcevski for everything they have done for realizing this international competition.
Dear competitors, I invite you on a fair-play competition and I wish that you achieve your greatest results and your personal records in HST.
Now I invite all of you to join the cocktail and exchange your personal experience and knowledge about HST.
I sincerely hope that we will have great time here.
Thank you.

Trajko Gjorcevski,
RSM President

Reviewing the competition

The first international competition in HST – Macedonia Open 2002 finished successfully. We had a great pleasure to compete with our friends from 9 countries all over the world. We gave our maximum to organize this contest successfully. I am happy that our friends are leaving from Ohrid pleased.
The contest took place in fair atmosphear and according the rules of HST. We are apologizing for the small technical problems, but we consider those problems has no impact on the results and the competition was regular.
The results are respectable and we expect that the next year on the 5th World competition they will be higher. I congratulate the Czech team winning the 1st place and I promise them that we will “revange” next time in Minsk. All results in single and team competition are won at fair game and the prices are well earned.
Good bye till next year in Minsk and see you soon in Macedonia.

Trainer of Macedonian national HST team.

We did it!

Macedonia is the place where old proverbs have special meaning. One of them say:
Better to work for free, than to waste your time. I have asked myself a lot of times would it be worthwhile or not to organize international HST competition or it would be just a waste of time and nerves. Most of the time calculations said that we shouldn’t start doing anything, because we will lose huge. But I said to my self that we must do it no matter how hard would be.
Finally we did it.
I hope that this competition was a successful one. Thank you very much for your presence here, your patience and understanding. I congratulate everyone on good results and I am sure that this is just a beginning of something good.
Once again thank you very much.
