  • The town is situated on the upper valley of Mures river at 28 km north of Targu Mures in bee-line.
  • There are 45 km's to Bistrita, 85 km's to Cluj-Napoca and 280 km's to Bucharest also in bee-line.
  • The national road DN15 and the railway SNCFR-405 pass through Reghin.
  • The town is at an altitude of 395 m above the sea level, at the edge of north-east part of Transilvanian Plateau.
  • The climate is moderate.
  • At the last census (January 7, 1992) the inhabitants of the town numbered 39240.
