WARNING - ANTENNAS!
Always keep in mind that the antennas, the higher they are, the better they act like lightning dischargers. The longer they are, the more important is the electrostatic charges they accumulate, sometimes due to the slightest windblow. To benefit of a minimum of anti-static protection, you have to:
Assure a good grounding for the equipment in your radio shack
Connect to ground the antennas you are not currently using
Do not make radio traffic when is lightening or during storms
Do not allow non-instructed personnel to have unwatched access to your station.
The antennas are metallic constructions mounted at considerable height. The falling of an antenna can cause not only material damages, but may seriously injury or even kill persons. Assure a solid anchorage of the antennas, even when you are installing it in portable locations for a short time!
When mounting or maintaining the antennas on the roof, it is strongly recommended to be accompanied and watched by someone and secure yourself using a safety belt tightened to a solid support.
