International QRP CW Field  Contest
"TOMIS TROPHY"
    This contest is organized every year in the second week-end of June by the Radio Club of Constanta in one of the beautiful summer resorts from the Black Sea coast of Romania.
    It combines the ham contest spirit with the recreation in the middle of nature , on the seaside, at the beginning of summer, when the weather is excellent and the resorts are not overcrowded.
    The name TOMIS  is the ancient name of Constanta city.

    The first edition of the contest was held back in 1990 in the summer resort EFORIE NORD (about 25 km south of Constanta).
   From the second edition onwards, the contest was held in the summer resort NAVODARI (about 10 km south of Constanta) at the premises of the Olympic Center of Navodari.

 Equipment:

The participants should bring their own equipment consisting of:
- qrp cw transceiver for 3.5 MHz, maximum DC power input = 5 watts ;
- antenna max 4 meters long, without counterpoise (a vertical whip) ;
- antenna tuner, SWR meter (optional) ;
- battery pack ;
- table, chair, etc.

Rules:

Contest period: 2 hours , between 10.00 to 12.00 LT .

The participants will settle their stations in the field, in a circle, at a distance of minimum 150 meters between 2 operators.

They  will use special call signs issued by the organizers.

The participants will  contact each other and will try to make as many cw QSO as possible.  They will exchange progressive contest numbers.
The same station can be contacted  more times during the contest at an interval of minimum 15 minutes.

After the contest time has elapsed, the participants will hand over the contest logs to the Organizers who will verify the results and nominate the winners.

During this contest, the competitors can prove their skills as they all have the same contest conditions (not like in real world).

The Organizers can arrange for the participants and their families accommodation at special amateur rates.
