Identification (call
sign) of the station.
The Jamboree amateur radio station will identify with the
call sign XR3J. the XR prefix is used in Chile for special
events, figure 3 shows the area 3 in Chile and the J stands
for Jamboree.
Antennas and
masts.
- one heavy-duty mast with a 9 element 20 meter-band
monoband beam or TH6DXX beam; rotatable.
- one medium mast with a 2 meter-band antenna and a 70
cm-band antenna; rotatable.
- one heavy-duty mast with a 3 element multi-band beam
for the 20/15/10 meter-band; rotatable.
- two light masts with dipole antennas for the 80 and
40 meter bands.
- one small mast with a 2 meter-band antenna for
internal amateur radio traffic at the Jamboree site.
The tallest mast carries the call sign of the station in
large letters.
Mast heights are approximately 20 meter.
Radio
equipment.
The radio equipment will enable the scouts to contact
virtually any point on earth.
Contacts can be made in normal voice (phone), Morse code
(CW), packet-radio (PR) and television (ATV and SSTV).
Five separate operating postions are set up:
- HF, 10, 15 and 20 m band, phone, CW
- HF, 10, 15 and 20 m band, SSTV
- HF, 40 and 80 m band, phone, CW
- VHF, 6 m, phone
- UHF, 70 cm and 2 m band, attached to
packet-radio
- SHF, 3 cm band, attached to Amateur Television
ATV
Computers.
On several positions personal computers are used for various
purposes. These are dedicated machines and may under no
condition be used for other purposes. We do not want a
situation where programme parts cannot be carried out
because someone decided to run some other programmes on a
computer.
