FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE WITH HARRY

I was born Dec. 17, 1936 in Latonia, Kentucky, just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, Ohio. We moved to Northern Virginia in 1941 when my dad went to work for the U. S. Government. I graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Va. in 1954 and started college at the Northern Virginia Extension of the University Of Virginia but had to drop out when I got married (first time). Worked as a Land Surveyor until I moved up to office design work. Moved to Virginia beach in 1963 and worked for a few different Architectural/Engineering firms and completed school at Old Dominion with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1968.

In 1969, I went to work for the U. S. Navy as a Facilities Engineer in the Planning Division at The Atlantic Division-Naval Facilities Engineering Command. As a Shore Facility Master Planner, I was responsible for numerous Naval Bases throughout the Atlantic area from Iceland to the South Pole, all of the Carribean, all of the Canal Zone, South America and all of Western Europe from Scotland To Ethiopia in North Africa. During my early years with the Navy, I also earned a M.S. in Urban Planning which came in handy in the preparation of Master Plans for numerous Naval Bases throughout the previously mentioned areas of the world. I retired in 1999 after 30 years and over 2 million miles of travelling aboard planes, trains, boats, horses and every other travel mode you can think of.

I got divorced in 1972 and remarried in 1975. We have a total of 8 children (hers, Mine and ours) and they are all on their own except for the youngest, who graduates from college this year

I currently have my own small business doing minor home repairs, mostly in the Sandbridge Resort area of Virginia Beach..

I have been licensed since 1991 and prior to that I was a dreaded CB’er and enjoyed it very much. I DID pass both the 5 WPM and 13 WPM code tests so I am not A “NO CODE PENCIL NECK GEEK”. The gang on 3.938 is the best and I really enjoy the comraderie we have both on the air and off.

HARRY
