Revised: July 12, 2004
David Collingham, K3LP and I hosted a visit by Naomi, JA7NVF in early July. Naomi is a very enthusiastic contester and he can often be heard slugging it out in the major contests. I had the pleasure of working him recently in the July 2004 IARU contest and his signal was up there with the loudest JAs mid-morning on Saturday.
Here are some pictures from our get-together:

I am delighted to announce the all-time record for WX3B was in this year's CQ WPX SSB contest!
Our team consisted of our steady supporters: K1RH, N3YIM, W3ARS, N3SB and N3FX...and we were joined by two of PVRC NC's experts: Henry, W2DZO and Gene, WB4MSG. Henry and Gene spent a good part of the 48 hours parked in front of the radios and we ended up with over 3,000 QSOs and more than 7 Million points. This effort was more than double our best effort to date. Thanks to everyone who made this happen.

WX3B Traditionally hosts several Multi/Multi efforts each year. Our favorite competition is WPX Phone, because it is both a DX and a Local Contest. This means that you can work anyone, anywhere (even your next door neighbor) and if they have a "rare" prefix - they are a Multiplier! Participation is good, and in 2003 we had a record number of dedicated operators and put on a good effort in spite of 10 meter band conditions being way down.
Here are two pictures of the WPX 2003 Effort, staring K1RH, and W3ARS. Not pictured: K3DNE and our photographer, N3YIM.

On Friday, July 11th we celebrated N3SB's 41st Birthday. Since AK3Z happened to have a digital camera with him, we snapped some "action" shots of WX3B. Thanks for your Camera, John.
