SOLO FLIGHT REQUIREMENTS; FAR #61.87
A written exam to include regulations, flight characteristics, and operational limitations for the make and model of the aircraft.
PRE-SOLO LOGGED INSTRUCTION:
1. Flight Prep procedures, to include preflight inspections, powerplant operations, and aircraft systems;
2. Taxiing and runup operations;
3. Takeoffs and landings, including normal and crosswind;
4. Straight and level flight, shallow, medium, and steep banked turns in both directions;
5. Climbs and climbing turns;
6. Airport traffic patterns including entry and departure procedures, and collision and wake turbulence avoidance;
7. Descents with and without turns using high and by drag configurations;
8. Flight at various airspeeds from cruising to minimum controllable airspeed;
9. Emergency procedures and equipment malfunctions;
10. Ground reference maneuvers;
11. Approaches to the landing area with engine power at idle and with partial power;
12. Slips to a landing;
13. Go-arounds from final approach and from the landing flare in various flight configurations including turns;
14. Forced landing procedures initiated on takeoff, during initial climb, cruise, descent, and in the landing pattern;
15. Stall entries from various flight attitudes and power combinations with recovery initiated at the first indication of a stall, and recovery from a full stall.
