146.700 repeater

HI HAM Friends

I was just monitoring the Union City Repeater they say there is a tone 100.0 on it.

Just wanted to pass this along.

KD5EZM Glenn

Just letting you know that we have gotten the ke4ntl  145.230 repeater in better shape. We put a 4 bay antenna up this week and 1/2 hard line. The range is a lot better & we have gotten good reports so far on it. We do have a 100 tone on input and output of repeater. The input is off now and then if we have a power failure. Our next step is to put a battery backup on site. Also we are planning a 440 repeater in future are looking for site to install it now.

Some things happening with Tennessee repeaters:

The Bellevue Baptist Church Ham group in Memphis is reviving an old Memphis repeater pair (443.700) by installing a repeater in Brunswick, TN. They're currently using an old GE Master Pro while their main repeater is being checked out.
 We welcome them.

KI4EXG has revived an old 2 meter pair in Memphis (146.640). We also welcome them.

A newer repeater and repeater controller have been installed at Union City on 146.700 pair. The repeater is a 100 watt Motorola MSR-2000, with a Micro Computer Concepts RC-1000 controller. The repeater has a 100.0 hz. tone, severe weather receiver, and other features. The repeater is open to all Hams. The local club (Reelfoot Amateur Radio Club) has a Net on Sunday Evenings at 9:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Columbia, TN has a new 440 repeater. The WN8VIX 444.100 repeater went online a few weeks ago. We welcome them.

Decatur County will have it's first 440 repeater in a few weeks. 443.325 is being coordinated in Decaturville, TN. by KA4P. We welcome them.

Remember that any member of the TN repeater user group can submit messages and questions to the user group at any time. The group is here for the repeater users and owners of Tennessee.

Thanks for all your patience while we worked on getting the machine back to "normal". Thank you also to everyone that helped with this endeavor, ( painting, digging trenches, covering trenches, etc.). Special thanks to Randy, KD4RIP. Randy maintains all the repeaters for WTARS and does a great job. Thanks again Randy. Please enjoy the repeater. 5/15/05

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The repeater on 145.170 ( previously Bruceton) will be off the air for a while. A demolition team will begin work next week to cut the guy wires, let it fall, and remove the tower.  Charter Communications informed the officers that a final decision had been made this last week.  Many thanks to Charter for allowing use of the tower and building for many years.  Special thanks to Colby Gilliam, KE4FVU, who helped move the repeater today.  The repeater will be relocated to Huntingdon. This is possible due to the kindness of Robin Wood, WA4YGM, of Union City, in allowing us tower space.

Please bear with us as we get SERA coordination paperwork arranged and work on antennas.  We intend to keep the packet node HUN59 on the air, but may temporarily use its 2m antenna, if it is needed.  AF4ZR 2/26/05

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The West Link System, KA4BNI, repeaters all now have a pl tone 131.8. Please make note of this change. Many thanks go to Alan McClain, KA4BNI, for providing and maintaining this system. 2/01/05

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

442.9's Rx is repaired. Enjoy.  The 442.9 repeater's receiver is working again.  We had a glitch in the controller.  Plans are to build a separate 12V power supply with battery backup.  If anyone wants to volunteer for this project, send me a note.  I'll get you the details.  Probably the nearby lightening last week was the cause for the failure. 10/22/04

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

442.9 Jackson, & 147.075 McNairy, had some damage to their receivers on 10/19/04. They will be repaired as soon as possible.

Subject: 440 link system

Hello Ken,

Just wanted to let you know I completed the last link, in the 440 linked repeater system, this weekend. Now all of the following repeaters are linked together:

442.150 mhz.    107.2 tone    Dresden
442.675 mhz.    107.2 tone    Concord (Near Milan)
442.425 mhz.    107.2 tone    Jackson
442.075 mhz.    107.2 tone    Natchez Trace

Everyone is welcomed to use the linked system, and there will also be severe weather paging, via the WX-1000 weather receiver, on the system. I will also be monitoring the linked system, during severe weather, to pass storm information on to the National Weather Service - Memphis.

Thanks,

Some of you know that I have been working on hooking up IRLP to the repeater here in Bolivar. See www.irlp.net for more information. It is now operational and should be open for use unless I am out of town or have the repeater unhooked for TStorms. The node number is 8760.  All licensed hams are welcome to use this system following good amateur practices. 73, Chuck, AF4O. - 10/19/2002

AUBURY PARNELL, KE4OVN, <ke4ovn@juno.com> has a  6 Meter repeater on the air. 53.710 output, 51.200 input, no PL. Try  out your 6M equipment. - 10/5/2002

Hello to All, I have installed a 10 meter FM radio link to the Natchez Trace 442.075 mhz. repeater. This 10 meter radio is set to 29.400 mhz. (FM) but is only set to receive mode. This means that you can use a 10 meter radio to transmit, into the repeater system on 29.400 mhz. and use a scanner set to 442.075 to listen. This can be useful for people who do not have a 440 radio. I'm using a 42 mhz. loop dipole for receive on 10 meters, for now.  I can get into the repeater, on the 10 meter link, from my home QTH (in Dresden) on 10 watts, using my 10 meter yagi. Try this unique link to the repeater system. If it seems to work well, I'll look at installing a permanent 10 meter antenna for transmit, as well. 73's  Alan McClain, KA4BNI, ka4bni@arrl.net, www.ka4bni.com - 8/6/2002
