UKCARC MEETING 7 September, 2008

 

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8:00 A.M. BY President Bill Lowery

 

REPORTS OF OFFICERS:  Treasurer $659.14

 

Members present: W7HNH Jack, KB7XQ Bill, K7RZS Phil, KI7AO Bill, N7XCJ Mary Jo,          KD7MDX John, W7TXU Jim, KC7ZUM Ray, AA7PR Dick, KB7LHE Dian, KE7GPG Iris,            N7XEQ Craig, KC7ZQD Beth, KC7NTP Hazel, WB7TMV Charlie, and KE7CXD Jim.

 

COMMUNICATIONS: None

 

COMMITTEES: KI7AO, Bill, reported on the CC 100 race. There were 107 starters, 77 finishers, and 33 radio operators. That was the highest volunteer hours on the smallest number of Hams. Also, the Easton Fire Dept has generously decided to donate $500 to the KCRA for the help from all the county Hams. Bill also referred Charlie’s (race director) note stating that next years race will be 29 & 30 August, 2009.

 

OLD BUSINESS: The 50K race is coming up next weekend. They still need help. Also, someone needs to volunteer to organize the race for next year as Ken is resigning the position. Connect Ken if you are interested.

 

NEW BUSINESS: ARES news. The equipment has been received on the grant less a couple of computers. Kittcom is ready to go.CEFMC will be ready after Randy from the hospital gets the location approved and antenna and feedline installed. On the 6th of October there will be an emergency drill centered in the Easton area. An ARES committee is going to attend the planning meetings. The Health Department will be doing flu shots again in the upper and lower county sometime in late October. We will get notice for communications as soon as the dates are confirmed.

 

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: It was decided that the annual dual club meeting/dinner will be held at Mineral Springs Lodge on September 27th at 6:00PM.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 0843 hours.
