UPPER KITTITAS COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

UKCARC MEETING  6 October, 2002

 

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8:39 A.M. BY  President Charlie Reisig 

 

1. REPORTS OF OFFICERS:  Treasurer $812.74.                 Members present: 

KI7AO Bill, W7USR Tom, WB7TMV Charlie, KC7BUC Elmer, Margaret, KB7LHE Dian,           KB7ZYI Peggy, KC7NTP Hazel, KC7ZQD Beth, N7XEQ Craig, AA7PR Dick, KB7ZYJ Charles, N7LXC Don, KC7ZUM Ray, WA7HNH Jack, and KB7DTF Dick.

 

 

2. COMMUNICATIONS:  Hazel and Peggy both made it to the meeting. They are getting better day by day. Jim Flint is also doing better. He did make it to the Rodeo City Radio Club meeting yesterday.

 

 

3. COMMITTEES:  The 50K Run (Elmer’s Run) went well. Ray Killian did a good job on short notice taking Jim’s place at the start/finish line. The Kittitas County Repeater Association received $400.00 for their help with communications.

 

 

4. OLD BUSINESS: The 100hz tone is still needed on the 147.36 repeater. Next Monday they hope to install the new 2m/440 antenna at the 146.72 site for the link up to Sky Meadows.

 

 

5. NEW BUSINESS: Dick Flynn, KB7DTF, came up from Ellensburg to talk about the upcoming ARES exercise on 20 October. He took the names of volunteers for the various points for the exercise. It will be held on 147.36.

It was suggested that the club members have an opportunity to purchase a coffee mug from Fantasy Glassworks at their own expense. Tom, W7USR, will find out the cost per cup and report back next month.It was also approved for Jack to purchase an interface for setting Echolink up on the 7.16 repeater. This will be nice for the snowbirds to keep in touch through the winter.

 

6. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:  Nominations for next year’s officers were made. The Vice-President will automatically move up to President. John Stefani, KD7MDX, was nominated for Vice-President and Jack was again nominated for Secretary-Treasurer.It was also approved to hold our November meeting again at the Sunset Café.

 

 

7. The meeting was adjourned at 0915 hours.
