UKCARC MEETING 6 July, 2008

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 A.M. BY President Bill Lowery

REPORTS OF OFFICERS: Treasurer $681.14

Members present: W0JED Jim, W7TXU Jim, KE7CXD Jim, KC7ZUM Ray, KD7MDX John, W7FEH Fred, KI7AO Bill, KB7XQ Bill, WA7HNH Jack, KE7GPG Iris.

COMMUNICATIONS: The Club received a flyer for the Radio Club of Tacoma Hamfest coming up in August.

COMMITTEES: Steve, KE7APW, gave out the details for the Runner Stumbles race today and took names for the needed positions.

John, KD7MDX, gave a report on the up coming Ales to Rails next weekend. There will be a radio station set up in the telegraph room at the depot. The callsign will be WR7UKC. John is looking for volunteers to operate the station.

Bill, KI7AO, is still in need of volunteers for the Cascade Crest 100 Mile Race. Anyone interested please contact Bill Bowden.

Jim, KE7CXD, is looking for more help with the Whiskey Dick Triathlon. If you would like to help contact Jim or Gloria.

OLD BUSINESS: Mention was made of the passing of Peggy, KB7ZYI. She will be missed. Best wishes to Charles in this time of loss.

Also Hazel, KC7NTP, is progressing on the path of recovery.

Dick, AA7PR, and Dian, KB7LHE, hosted a very nice potluck last month. Everyone that attended want to thank them for there efforts and the nice area to have the event. Thanks again.

NEW BUSINESS: Mention was again made about Tom, W7USR and Jack, WA7hnh, giving a class on digital communications.

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: Bill, KI7AO, was told that the Morman group that tested a couple of month ago would like to come by and look at an operating hamshack. Bill thought that might be a place to pick up some more help for the 100 miler. Also spark more interest in the county amateurs.

The meeting was adjourned at 0742 hours.
