UPPER KITTITAS COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUBWR7UKC REPEATER UKCARC MEETING 4 January, 2004
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8:15 A.M. BY Vice Presdient Ray Killian
1. REPORTS OF OFFICERS: Treasurer $926.84 Members present: W7TXU Jim, KB7ZYJ Charles, N7XEQ Craig, KC7ZQD Beth, KC7KEM Mike, KC7ZUM Ray, KB7XQ Bill, and WA7HNH Jack.
2. COMMUNICATIONS: None
3. COMMITTEES: None
4. OLD BUSINESS: A gentleman called Bill, KB7XQ, and said he had a cabin at Salmon La Sac and wanted to find out if he could hit any local repeaters from there. Bill said he was sure he could so the gentleman is going to try to get his amateur license. Bill also got a call from a ham on the Westside confirming more information on the site.
5. NEW BUSINESS: The current search for the Ellensburg skier has quite a few of our county search and rescue members are involved in with King County search and rescue. It was mentioned that our people thought the King County search and rescue group was very disorganized. The group is returning today to search farther for the skier.
6. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: There is a apparently new repeater that can be worked from the area. It has the callsign W0CZA and looking on QRZ.Com says it is linked and simocasting on 5 repeaters and will expand to 11 this year. The repeater is on 441.125 mhz with a PL tone of 123.0 hz. It is an open system. There was talk from a few that they thought the ARRL weekly broadcast should be put out on the KCRA 147.36 repeater. The major feeling is that it is available on line and over the lowbands so do not have it on 147.36.
7. The meeting was adjourned at 0837 hours.
NEXT REGULAR CLUB MEETING TO BE HELD 1 February, 2004
