UKCARC MEETING 1 August, 2004

 

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8:26 A.M. BY President John Steffani

 REPORTS OF OFFICERS:  Treasurer $681.66 

1.        Members present: KB7XQ Bill, W7TXU Jim, KI7AO Bill, WA7GYD Gloria, N7AAW Boyd, WB7TMV Charlie, KC7ZQD Beth, N7XEQ Craig, AA7PR Dick, KB7LHE Dian,                N7XCJ Mary Jo, KC7BUC Elmer, Margaret, KD7MDX John, KC7KEM Mike, KC7ZUM Ray, and WA7HNH Jack.

       2.        COMMUNICATIONS: NONE

 

3.        COMMITTEES:  KI7AO reported that the Runner Stumbles race went very well.

Whiskey Dick was very good also. Approximately 100 finished the race. The last runner made it in at 4:00PM.

The 100 mile race is on track for the 28th & 29th of August. This year it starts and ends at the Easton Fire Station. There are 34 Hams signed up to help in the race. KI7AO is looking for the loan of Kenwood D-7 batteries.

Elmer’s race is set for September 18th. Elmer will let us know what he still needs for help.

W7TXU says apparently we are not needed or wanted at the Labor Day parade in Ellensburg this year.

 

4.        OLD BUSINESS: Elmer was reimbursed for the cost of the antenna analyzer he purchased at Seaside in June. That is now club property for use by club members.

 

5.        NEW BUSINESS: It was brought up that the Club should have a property manager. KB7XQ made a motion that Ray Killian be the property manager and WA7HNH seconded. It was voted and approved.

N7AAW, Boyd, talked to the Club about RACES. He explained how RACES and ARES are combining there purpose. Boyd handed out applications for membership. He will turn them in to the Sheriff for processing.

 

6.        MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: N7XEQ, Craig, showed his VHF quad antenna that he built. It                 looked very impressive and he is going to try it out to see how his efforts work.

Harold, Bill, and Jack are going to Sky Meadows to do fixes on the KCRA equipment tomorrow    morning.

Jack reported that 147.16 is having a receiver desense problem. He is working on that problem.

 

7.        The meeting was adjourned at 0910 hours.
