UKCARC MEETING  4 August, 2002

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8:20 A.M. BY President Charlie Reisig

1. REPORTS OF OFFICERS:  Treasurer $876.66.                 Members present:

KC7BUC Elmer, Margaret, KI7AO Bill, N7XCJ Mary Jo, KD7MDX John, W7USR Tom,           KC7NTP Hazel, AA7PR Dick, KB7LHE Dian, KC7ZUM Ray, KC7ZQH Don, KB7XQ Bill,      WB7TMV Charlie, KA7NEH Emmitte, and WA7HNH Jack.

2. COMMUNICATIONS:

3. COMMITTEES: Bill, KI7AO, passed around a sign-up list for the Labor Day parade on the 31st of August at Ellensburg.

4. OLD BUSINESS: The Whiskey Dick Triathlon went very well this year. Infact it was completed about one half hour faster than in the past. There were good comments on the communications help.

The 100-mile run is coming along fine and Bill, KI7AO, is doing his usual firstclass job get that organized for communications. He is trying to arrange that the sweeper will be set up with an APRS tracker so the officials can keep track of the participants. There will be a final meeting at 8:30AM on raceday at the Parkside Cafe in Easton.

The Cle Elum Ridge run is shaping up and Elmer is arranging communications for that event.

5. NEW BUSINESS: Tom, W7USR, and Jan, KB7LMY, were out looking at the various locations for the 100 mile run and were successful working APRS through the 147.36 repeater. This pleased the KCRA owners and they thank Tom and Jan for the test.

Last Thursday Bill, KI7AO, got together with the Sheriff and his staff to go over the callout procedure on future searches.  This was doing to straighten out the lack of communication with the communications people in ARES. Hopefully this situation is clear to all now.

6. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:  The 146.72 repeater has been moved and the sick receiver has been repaired thanks to Harold, WA7UHW.

The new controller is scheduled to be installed on 147.36 on the 22nd of August. This will be in time for the 100 mile run.

7. The meeting was adjourned at 0833 hours.
