MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8:00 A.M. BY President Dick Morrison
REPORTS OF OFFICERS: Treasurer $1539.26
Members present: W7USR Tom, W7TXU Jim, KC7ZUM Ray, KB7XQ Bill, N7XEQ Craig, KC7ZQD Beth, KC7NTP Hazel, N7AAW Boyd, WA7GYH Gloria, KD7MDX John, WA7HNH Jack, K7KFM Dick, KE7GPG Iris, AA7PR Dick, KB7LHE Dian, K7RZS Phil, KI7AO Bill, N7XCJ Mary Jo, N7FQR Bud, N7GWB Dave, and WB7TMV Charlie.
COMMUNICATIONS: There was a discussion on the pending Amateur Radio bills in the State House and Senate.
COMMITTEES: Gloria showed a magnetic sign for Amateur Radio. Bill, XQ, made a motion for the Club to buy 3 sets. Dian, LHE, seconded the motion and it was approved to make the purchase. Jack reported that all county repeaters were working with the exception of Lookout Mountain. Jack went up yesterday and found the SWR on the feedline was infinite and as a result had wiped out the finals on the transmitter. He brought the radio down to get it repaired and we will have to go up the tower to find the problem there.
OLD BUSINESS: Bill, XQ, gave a report on the Board meeting at the Senior Center. The board approved having a radio installation there. The antenna was purchased with the balance of the grant money plus a little help from Bill, KI7AO. The coax was purchased and thanks to some generous local citizens at the Cle Elum coffee shop we received $80.00 toward the cost. Ken, WA7VAJ, will install the antenna and coax.
NEW BUSINESS: Bill, XQ, and Jack, HNH, attended the Red Cross orientation meeting to make the Senior Center a community shelter. Interesting but did not include much for the communications end. Tom, USR, reported that the State EOC has spent $10K on more equipment for Camp Murray.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: Upcoming events are the Yakima Hamfest on 4/14, the EWSec meeting at Ephrata on 4/21, the next E’Burg VE session will also be 4/21. The Fire Chief said that a generator was ordered. The date of June 29th was picked as the date for the annual dinner at Dick and Dian’s cabin. Interest was expressed for an ARES/RACES meeting in October.
