UKCARC MEETING 2 April, 2006

  

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8:05 A.M. BY President Craig Johnson

 REPORTS OF OFFICERS:  Treasurer $1323.77

 Members present: KD7MDX John, KB7XQ Bill, W7USR Tom, KB7LNY Jan, N7XEQ Craig,      KC7ZQD Beth, W7TXU Jim, KD7DGB Jul, Barbara, KB7QYF Stephen, K7RZS Phil, KC7NTP Hazel, KI7AO Bill, WA7HNH Jack, K7KFM Dick, KC7ZUM, N7FSP Scott, KE7GPG Iris, and KK7VL Jim.

COMMUNICATIONS: The meeting started with a very nice Power Point presentation on NVIS antennas by Tom, W7USR. A lot of good information was given out with this program.

COMMITTEES: The Yakima Canyon River run went very well.

 OLD BUSINESS: The radios at the KVCH are waiting for a programming cable. Kittitas County is suppose to be next on the list.

The next emergency communications test will be on April 29th. The ARES personnel in the county are starting preparations to participate in this exercise.

 NEW BUSINESS: There will be a joint Kittitas county radio clubs meeting on June 10th at the Cle Elum Fire Station. The Northwest Division Director for the ARRL will be among the speakers. Also county EOC’s will be discussed along with other subjects on amateur radio.

The topic of talking to the Cle Elum Fire Chief about having an ARES EOC at the Fire Station.

 MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: There will be a Skywarn  class on the 25th of April at the Senior Center in Cle Elum at 1900 hours.

On April 21st N7RR/VE7HR will be going from the Mexican border to the Canadian border. He will be on HF, APRS, UHF/VHF.

Up coming events also include Runner Stumbles 7/2, Whiskey Dick Race 7/23, and Dick and Dian’s get together on either the 29th or 30th of June.

 The meeting was adjourned at 0913 hours.
