7th Supply and Transport Battalion

Constituted 10 November 1917 in the Regular Army as the 7th Supply Train, an element of 7th Division.

Organized 10 May 1918 at Camp MacArthur, Texas.

Reorganized and redesignated 19 February 1921 as 7th Division Train, Quartermaster Corps.

Inactivated 24 September 1921 at Camp George G. Meade, Maryland.

Redesignated 23 March 1925 as the 7th Division Quartermaster Train.

Redesignated 1 May 1936 as the 7th Quartermaster Regiment.

Regiment broken up 1 October 1939 and its elements reorganized, redesignated, and activated o disbanded as follows:

Headquarters and Headquarters Company and Company E consolidated to form Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 7th Quartermaster Battalion; Companies A and B consolidated to form Company A, 7th Quartermaster Battalion; 7th Quartermaster Battalion relieved from assignment to the 7th Division, assigned to the 6th Division, and activated in Omaha, Nebraska.

(Remainer of regiment disbanded).

7th Quartermaster Battalion relieved 1 July 1940 from the 6th Division and assigned to the 7th Division (later redesignated as the 7th Infantry Division.

Reorganized and redesignated 9 April 1942 as the 7th Motorized Quartermaster Battalion.

Reorganized and redesignated 10 January 1943 as the 7th Quartermaster Company; 7th Infantry Division

Reorganized and redesignated 7 November 1943 as the 7th Quartermaster Company.

Reorganized and redesignated 1 July 1963 as the 7th Supply and Transport Battalion (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated).

Inactivated 2 April 1971 in Korea.

Activated 21 February 1975 at Fort Ord, California.
