The absolute most up-to-date information and statistics for the WCRA VE test sessions are well maintained by Peter, (N5UWY) on his web site: http://plaws.net/VE. Peter's site not only contains the most up-to-date information on the WCRA testing sessions, but also includes a lot of good information about the whole testing and licensing process, including tips on how to be prepared for the exam session and the exam. Thanks to Peter, N5UWY for this contribution, and be sure to check out his site to best prepare for that next exam day, and to be sure that you have the most up-to-date schedule and time information for the session. information available on WCRA VE testing sessions.
Most of our sessions are held on the 4th Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Local Time, at:
Helen M. Plum Memorial Library Colonel Plum Auditorium 110 Maple Street Lombard, Illinois 60148
Contact: Harry, K9HK, hfkamer@sysmatrix.net or 630.953.0519
Exceptions to this general rule of the 4th Thursday of each month are common during the latter part of the year -- in particular in November since the 4th Thursday in November is always the Thanksgiving Holiday in the United States. Additionally, December VE sessions are frequently rescheduled due to the proximity of the Christmas Holiday. The WCRA VE team strongly urges license / upgrade candidates to check Peter's (N5UWY's) web site to see how the schedule is shifted around the holidays, or to contact our senior VE Harry (K9HK) to confirm when a VE session will take place.
Other WCRA VE sessions are normally offered in conjunction with our annual hamfest. This normally occurs on the 4th or 5th Sunday in January of each year. Again, please confirm either on Peter's web site, or by contacting Harry to confirm when the WCRA VE team will be holding sessions.

In case you are unable to attend a WCRA VE session because of scheduling, George (W9GWR) has compiled a list of other VE testing sessions in the greater Chicagoland area. This information is now contained in the Adobe Acrobat ® PDF format, and was last updated on January 15, 2004. If you are not able to view Adobe Acrobat documents or are interested in VE sessions outside of the Chicagoland area, an alternative that we can suggest would be to use the ARRL's VE Session search tool at: http://www.arrl.org/arrlvec/examsearch.phtml.
