The WCRA Hamletter is published monthly in two formats. The Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
format full color version is published to the Web. An abbreviated version in
black and white is mailed to those club members who do not have access to the
Internet. Publishing the Hamletter to a Web page really helps the club control
expenditures. Printing and mailing the Hamletter as we did in the past would
cost about $1 per member per month. That's nearly half the annual dues for a
full member, and almost 100% of the annual dues for a member who is a senior
citizen or full time student.
The Hamletter is published by Don, N9NYX. Don is always looking for new articles
and ideas. One of the great benefits of publishing to the Web is that we can
include as much as we wish without worrying about postage costs.
Right now Don would like to re-institute the Shack of the Month column. All it
takes is an inexpensive digital camera (I'll let you use mine), and the ability
to report some facts about the WCRA member (and they'll likely give you all the
facts you could possibly want!). Give Don a call, or drop him an email.
