WCF SECTION PROPOSAL AMENDMENT
The members of the West Central Florida Section Committee have voted to delete Lee County from the WCF Proposal.
The Committee recognizes the desire expressed by a number of ARRL members in Lee Co. to remain part of the Southern Florida Section. Should the ARRL members in Lee Co. wish to become part of the West Central Florida Section when created, we will welcome their participation and contribution to the activities of the West Central Florida Section.
To notify the ARRL, the following is a letter that has been submitted as the official notification of this change to the proposal. A revised map and statistical data for the nine counties were included with the letter.

Re: West Central Florida Section Proposal Amended
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Since the West Central Florida Section Petition and Proposal was submitted one month ago, the West Central Florida Section Committee has become aware of a growing desire by ARRL members in Lee Co. to remain in the Southern Florida Section. This sentiment was reinforced last week by a vote of the membership of the Fort Myers Amateur Radio Club.
While the Committee would have preferred to see the question of Lee County�s membership in the proposed West Central Florida Section decided by all Lee Co. ARRL members, we recognize pursuing this conclusion is no longer possible. After consultation with Southeastern Division Director Frank Butler, the Committee has voted to amend our Section proposal to the League to include the following West Central Florida Counties:
CHARLOTTE
DESOTO
HARDEE
HIGHLANDS
HILLSBOROUGH
MANATEE
PINELLAS
POLK
SARASOTA
The Committee has prepared support information that reflects the above change to our proposal. Adjusted population figures and a revised map of the proposed West Central Florida Section are attached within.
The separation of Lee Co. from the West Central Florida Section proposal is made without prejudice. Should the ARRL membership there seek to change its Section affiliation in the future, their participation in the proposed West Central Florida Section will be welcome.
