I received one of these radios, in kit form, for my 13th birthday. At that time they cost $19.95 brand new. Now you see these rigs sell for absolutely amazing amounts. I recently gave up on trying to find one, for a sane price, and built one from scratch. Just the power transformer, for this one, cost well over twice the transmitter's original price. The parts cost a bit over $200 and it would have been much worst without help from Steve WA3JJT. Steve has about 14 of every part ever made... if he can find it. Other than the chassis paint job, this is a fairly decent reproduction. I get about 6 watts of output on 40 meters with this transmitter. It gets used a lot!
