hello si-list,

I have a question with respect to routing under 45 degrees angles (-45, 0, 45,
90). From the si-list I have noticed that
some designs use this technique. I am interested in designing 4 layers of
striplines in 45 degree routing.

Currently we use Zuken's route editor 5000. However, our version only handles 0
and 90 degrees (Manhatten routing).
Currently we are also evaluating a Specctre route editor (Cadence). It is too
new to gauge is capabilities.

My questions:

-1- can Zuken's route editor work under 45 degrees angles? Or more general,
under any angle(s) you choose?
-2- what are the capabilities of Specctre in this respect?
-3- does "any angle" routing exists for PCBs ( like wire wrap )??

Does anyone have any personal experience in these topics or is willing to
contribute some personal thoughts??

regards,
