Ted,
An ad for Autosplice ( http://www.autosplice.com/ ) in the September
2000 Electronic Component News shows their SmiT "shield clips". These can be
reflow-soldered onto a card, then you can plug the edges of a shield into the
clips to provide mechanical support and electrical continuity. I haven't had
to use shields on any of my cards yet, but these clips look like a neat solution
to being able to test/repair the stuff under the shield without risking damage
to the card or other circuitry.
