I am not sure if you simply don't understand the term
or you want a more detailed explanation. I will assume
the former:
Edge coupled diff pair:
------- -------
conductor one conductor two
Broadside coupled diff pair:
------- conductor one
------- conductor two
An edge coupled diff pair are routed on the same layer
A broadside coupled diff pair are routed on adjacent layers.
As the term implies, the coupling occurs along the broad
side of the conductor.
