Hi,

I am a former developer for W element in Hspice (just left
Avant! a few weeks ago).
I would like to introduce the new feature of W element which
allows you to model any kinds of frequency-dependent behaviors.
Starting from 2000.4 (beta version is already available now),
W element will support a tabular model to describe rlgc parameters.
By using this feature, some of problems originated from the
analytic expression used in rlgc model can be completely removed
(of course, assuming you have correct models of transmission lines).

And this beta version Hspice should be the most stable version in
terms of W element. There are also couple of minor improvements also.
Have a fun!
