Any patent lawyer worth his fees works hard to make sure that a patent is
not narrowly bound. If 2 mils is mentioned in the patent, it is likely
only as an example of the improvement possible to achieve the thinner
dielectric. If you really want to know, you have to pull the patent and
look at the specific claims at the end of the patent.
