Ming,

The inductance in Ansoft SI Q3D defines the partial self inductance of the
conductor.

To obtain the loop inductance of the respective conductor, you'd have to define
a "current return path" for that conductor. The "Reduced Matrix" option will be
able to do that.

I've had good correlation using the reduced matrix and actual measured results.

Hi, all

I have some questions about Ansoft SI 3D.

1. The inductance extracted by Ansoft SI 3D is partial inductance or
loop inductance or it depends?

2.For a via through several power and ground planes, does the SI 3D
consider the effects of those planes when doing the extraction?

Thanks.

Ming
