Silver epoxy attachment has been extensively studied and many experiments
have been conducted mainly by the DOD and aero-space industries. To my
knowledge, the overall conclusion was the cost, conductivity, life
expectancy during longevity testing, and outgassing. In some applications
like a single layer copper mill on flexible circuit assembly the silver
epoxy may function but due to high curing time tolerance of Kapton materials
and the curing spec associated with some other components on the FCB, you
may create a micro-fracture on the silver epoxy that will affect the
conductivity and reliability. Cost and reliability is still the main
detriment to silver epoxy.

Subject: [SI-LIST] : Silver epoxy as opposed to solder

Hello All,
I would appreciate any feedback (Pros and Cons) on using silver epoxy as
opposed
to solder to attach discrete parts to a PCB board.
How this effect the electrical performance of De-Cap capacitors, high
frequency
RF components (LRC) or line impedance?
