On low frequency magnetic fields the spec tends to be controlled by the sensitivity of
the read head since most hard drive assemblies are cast aluminum and provide no magnetic
shielding. The ambient fields distort the readback waveform, and with the problems they
already have with non-linearity in the MR/GMR heads, this doesn�t help. So talk to your
head group, and ask what fields they can stand.
