Silicon Spice, a fast growing start-up providing semiconductor-based
platform solutions for the communications industry, has a summer position
available for a signal integrity/electrical characterization engineer. The
intern will be responsible for the specification and implementation of a
signal integrity and electrical characterization environment that can be
used for the analysis of high performance electronic packages and systems.

Job Description

1. Candidate will work with IC Development and System Engineering teams to
develop and execute a plan to:
� Evaluate lab requirements
� Define equipment needs
� Evaluate solutions
� Procure and implement selected equipment

2. Candidate will evaluate computational tools that can be used for
electrical characterization of high performance packages and systems:
� Specify tool requirements
� Survey and evaluate applications

3. Candidate will use the infrastructure created above to characterize high
performance electronic packages:
� Experimental determination of component parasitics
� Correlation with computational and analytical models
� Document characterization methodology

Requirements
� B.S. Electrical Engineering
� Experience in electromagnetic field theory and signal integrity analysis
of high speed systems and/or components
� Hands-on experience with experimental methods
� Experience with numerical analysis methods (SPICE, 3D field solvers, etc.)
� Excellent project planning skills
� Works well in a team environment
� Excellent communication skills
