i use neither of the tools (not accurate or fast enough or both for me), but
have been working with both development teams to improve their capability
and accuracy. i think what you want to use depends heavily on your
application. XTK has a very fast but simple engine. SpectraQuest has a very
flexible but slower engine. if you have a lot of standard designs, XTK might
give you the fastest speed of analysis. on the other hand if you have a lot
of custom or asic applications, SpectraQuest gives you some chance of
customizing your i/o and packaging models and eventually use spice model for
better accuracy. XTK development team seems to be a little more knowledgably
in real world design and tends to react to technology changes a little
quicker while SpectraQuest team seems to be more cad savvy and give u more
user friendly front ends and prettier packages. i enjoy working with both of
them.
