Note that for TTL, the resistor in the collector of the pullup transistor
(50 to 200 ohms depending on family) acts as a (somewhat) series termination.
Thus TTL is diode clamped for HL transistions, and series terminated
(approximately) for LH transitions. There is no need for diode
clamping on LH transitions (typically).
