If the split is "narrow" (less than 50mils, but it depends on the edge
rates of the signals, the narrower the better) it shouldn't do any harm.

Can anyone give me some insight into the effects of running a
differentail pair over a split in a ground plane? Assume the
differential pair to be at 10 MHz or 100 MHz.
