Yes. They look a little funny, but the ones I have in mind mount sideways on
the board, such that the signal continues out the end of the cable, rather than
making a ninety degree turn when entering the board. A tab is soldered to the
pad on the card, with no via required. As pointed out by another si-lister,
there is still some capacitance in the body of the connector itself, but at
least you save the via capacitance.
