For what it's worth, the inductance of a series transmission line
discontinuity can be calculated from the AREA of the reflected TDR
pulse, avoiding the need to estimate risetime. The formula is:

L = 2*Zo*AREA (AREA is in units of time, since rho
(reflection coef.) is dimensionless)

This is exact, and is a result of the LaPlace final value theorem.
