Signal Integrity Positions Open at Sun Microsystems

SUN Microsystems presently has 2 openings for Signal Integrity Engineers
at our facility in Mountain View, California. One opening is for an
experienced SI engineer with a proven track record while the second
position is an entry level position for a grad or post-grad student with
relevant course work.

Position #1:

* The Signal Integrity Group of Sun's VLSI Engineering
Department has an immediate requirement for a signal
integrity engineer who will become an integral part of
our expanding technical staff. The candidate should have
experience in creating SPICE models from both measurements
(frequency domain and time domain) and from EM simulations.

* The sucessful applicant will have experience with high
performance systems utilizing high-speed, fast risetime
clocking.

* We are looking for someone who is at home in the lab utilizing
state of the art equipment as well as one who is experienced in
the theoretical aspects of SI simulation and analysis.

* The engineer who fills this position will have a direct impact
on a multitude of projects within Sun. Multiple project groups
ranging from silicon designers to system designers to network
interface designers call on our groups SI expertise to keep them
on the leading edge.

* Knowledge of EMI/EMC issues as related to SI a plus. Knowledge
of modern clock generation and distribution technologies a plus.
Knowledge of fiber optics issues and optical signal integrity
also a plus.

Position #2:

* The Signal Integrity Group of Sun's VLSI Engineering
Department has an immediate requirement for an entry
level signal integrity engineer who will become an integral
part of our expanding technical staff. The successful candidate
will be a recent graduate with at least a MSEE (preferably
PhD.) with a strong background in electromagnetic theory.
Relevant SI coursework a plus as is previous experience in
industry.

* The candidate will need to have laboratory experience in
making measurements in both the frequency and time domain.
Knowledge of buss topologies and termination techniques a
definite plus. Knowledge of spice, transmission line modeling
tools, and IBIS models a plus.

* The successful candidate will join an expanding SI staff
involved in the development of state-of-the-art world class
workstations and related hardware.
